At Barcelona, Mourinho responsibilities grew again. The club’s leaders wanted a local assistant, but Robson insisted on keeping him. In a tense environment after Johan Cruyff’s departure, Robson needed someone he could trust completely.
Mourinho scouted opponents, planned sessions, and produced detailed tactical reports. Midfielder Guillermo Amor said, “Jose had great respect for Bobby, and Bobby trusted him in everything.”
